Coal Hill Shovel

May 3, 2008 – 8:20 pm

I first stumbled across these huge diesel shovels years and years ago. I forgot about them until a few months back when I was out exploring with my KLR and discovered them again. They are about a mile south of Coal Hill, AR. Both of them are huge and just laying derelict in a field full of cows and mosquitoes. The largest one is easily forty feet tall. The work area inside is two stories.

My camera ran out of batteries before I could get all of the shots I wanted. It is definitely worth a trip back.
