The video came out horrible. My ex vibrates a lot more than the ZZR did, so much so that the video will give you a seizure if you watch it. On top of that, YouTube compressed it into nothingness when I uploaded it.

Here is how the new exhaust sounds, sort of. My camera couldn't capture the bass.

Click here to view the embedded video.

My original exhaust was having baffle problems, instead of replacing it with a stock exhaust, I thought why not take a step up? The Jardine exhaust has a nice sound without being too loud. It's certainly lighter than the stock exhaust. The KLR has a bit more pep too.

Continental TKC 80 Tires

[SinglePic not found]

These tires are supposedly %60 off/%40 on, which worried me, but I was able to easily keep up with the sport bike crew on AR-71. I don't have much to compare the off road abilities of the tires too, except to say I like them better than the stock tires. The sure footed feeling from the Contis is nice. Hitting the rear brake stops the bike instead of sliding the back end around.

I had to test my new toys out.

[SinglePic not found]

The above is 3.5 hour drive through dirt roads no one ever goes on. I didn't see any cars at all. Most of the trip was spent winding up and down narrow mountain roads with a cliff face of solid rock on one side, and couple hundred feet drop on the other.

Items Needed:

2 Quarts Oil

1 Oil Filter

Socket wrench with appropriate socket

Torque Wrench

Paper Towels

Alan wrench

Oil Pan

Funnel

Steps Needed:

Wait five months and 2000 miles.

Buy oil and a filter

Wait another month.

Make plans to do it Saturday.

Make plans to do it Sunday.

Make plans to do it Monday.

Make plans to do it Tuesday.

Change into your gym clothes that smell funny no matter how you wash them.

Hunt for the wierd ass alan bit that you need to remove the fairing.

Spend fifteen minutes trying to remove the fairing. The bolts will come off in thirty seconds, but the plastic tab is a bitch.

Drain the oil.

Remove the filter.

Install new filter.

Hunt for the torque spec on the oil bolt.

Give up and torque down to your best guess.

Fill with oil.

Wipe off all of the oil that dripped onto the manifold because the oil filter is directly above it.

Start bike, let it warm up.

If you don't get the oil level right on the first try, you suck.

Attach the fairing, points if you have all of the bolts from step 9 within reach.

Use paper towels to clean up the thirty random oil spots on your garage floor.

Dump oil pan in neighbor's yard.

All done.
